On Part 5 of the history of Fleetwood Mac, I delve into the group hiring Californian guitarist Bob Welch to replace Jeremy Spencer and the different sound he brought into the group, Welch's simmering dissent and personal disconnect with his bandmates, and the 1971 release of the group's fifth (and first with Bob Welch) album, Future Games!

On this episode of the Fleetwood Mac history podcast, I talk about what the band gets up to after Peter Green leaves the band. We talk about Danny Kirwan being thrust into a lead creative role while dealing with his own issues, the bands first full length release without Green called Kiln House, Jeremy Spencer's 50's rock influences on Kiln House, and the eventual departure of Spencer and introduction of new guitarist Bob Welch!

I talk to Ted from the Toronto quartet Death Waits! We talk about their latest hard hitting, full length release Burn Everything and the wild seven year journey it took to record along with lineup changes!

On Part 3, I talk about Peter Green's last song he wrote for Fleetwood Mac, The Green Manalishi (with the Two Prong Crown) and how it was indicative of his mental health struggles and eventual departure from the band. I go into Peter's life after Fleetwood and tribute quotes from different musicians after his passing, Jeremy Spencer being lured into a cult and the band being thrust onto Danny Kirwan's shoulders!

On episode 2 of Viral Music History's series on Fleetwood Mac, I talk about how Peter Green and the rest of Fleetwood Mac discover their newest guitarist, 18 year old Danny Kirwan. The band starts to shift a little creatively during this time with Danny's addition with singles Albatross and Oh Well, and Peter Green and Kirwan's only full length release together, Then Play On. Unfortunately, drug use starts to take its toll on the group's mental health during this period and I start discussing the potential fallout from all of this.

On this first edition of Viral Music History, we begin with the early beginnings of Fleetwood Mac! This episode covers how Peter Green, John McVie and Mick Fleetwood met each other through John Mayall's Bluesbreakers group, where their blues roots are inspired from, the impact of the single Black Magic Woman, their first two album releases and more!
